Ozzy Osbourne's Last Black Sabbath Show to Hit Cinemas

Ozzy Osbourne's final performance with Black Sabbath is set to be shown in cinemas worldwide, marking a poignant moment in music history. The film, titled "Ozzy & Black Sabbath: Back to the Beginning," captures the legendary heavy metal band's last live performance, which took place in Birmingham, England, just 17 days before Osbourne's death at the age of 76 in July of the previous year.

The concert was a significant event, reuniting Osbourne with his bandmates Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler, and Bill Ward for the first time in over two decades. It was held at Villa Park stadium on July 5, 2025, and featured a sold-out crowd, celebrating the band's monumental legacy in the heavy metal genre. The film is produced by Mercury Studios and directed by Ben Wainwright-Pearce, known for his work on concert films like Taylor Swift's "The Eras Tour" and George Michael's "The Faith Tour."

This cinematic release aims to immerse audiences in both the grandeur of the stadium production and the intimate moments of Osbourne's farewell to his fans. It has been engineered for a fully immersive audio-visual experience, presented in Dolby Atmos and 5.1 surround sound, ensuring that viewers feel the power and clarity of the performance.

Ozzy's Emotional Farewell to Fans

During the concert, Osbourne expressed his gratitude to the audience, stating, "I don’t know what to say, man, I’ve been laid up for like six years. You have no idea how I feel – thank you from the bottom of my heart." His wife, Sharon Osbourne, revealed that the concert was a dream for Ozzy, who wanted nothing more than to perform again and say goodbye to his fans. She recounted asking him what would make him happy, to which he replied that performing one last time was all he desired.

What's the point?

The film not only showcases the final performance but also includes a solo set from Osbourne and features appearances from other notable acts, including Guns N' Roses and Metallica, with Rage Against The Machine guitarist Tom Morello serving as the musical director. The concert was hosted by actor Jason Momoa, adding to the star-studded nature of the event.

"Ozzy & Black Sabbath: Back to the Beginning" is set for release in cinemas on October 28, with tickets going on sale starting September 24. This film serves as a tribute to Osbourne's incredible career and the indelible mark he and Black Sabbath have left on the music world.
