The unfortunate truth of the war in Ukraine is that it is beginning to dawn on everyone that the only way to end it is the assassination of Putin. That is in spite of the fear that someone might take over who is the same or even worse. Putin shows no sign of stopping and there are even signs of escalation. In fact, stopping might be too dangerous for him personally. The Ukrainians dont want to openly attack Russia directly but they will have no choice if Russia keeps up its missile attacks on civilian infrastructure. The Ukrainian people will demand it and there is a limit to what we in the West will put up with. The fear in the West is that Putin will use this as an excuse to use nuclear weapons. Which brings us back to the conclusion that the only way out is getting rid of Putin.
On a more humorous note is the second group of Harry and Meghan episodes. I like millions of others watched but I was left with more unanswered questions than I wanted. Who is paying for the life we see those two having? I never saw Harry or Meghan for that matter do anything that might give them income (except for the Netflix doc itself). No sign of either looking at an electricity bill, or water, gas, telephone or any sign that they might have any financial issues to worry about. Who is paying for the nice cars, beautiful clothes, nanny, the stately mansion with its own beach in California? What I see is a family with the biggest problem being unfavorable press coverage and lack of privacy. Contrast that with what we see everyday on the BBC in Ukraine, Somalia, Pakistan, where people are REALLY suffering. Meanwhile, from what the episodes showed was that the dreaded "racism" was working very much in their favor and garnered them huge support in England and around the world they would not have had were Meghan to be just another white girl. The "love story" aspect was also interesting. Would Meghan have picked up the phone if the caller had looked just like Harry, acted like Harry but been working in an average job earning no more than 100,000 Pounds a year? As she said herself, from a young age she wanted to be rich and famous AND later had to tell her girl friends in hushed tones "guess who I am dating". The press coverage has been surprisingly kind as we all know how the British tabloid press can be. When I worked in the UK it was a standing joke that you know you've made it when the press goes negative on you. Build you up, then tear you down is the normal game of the tabloids. Their job after all is NOT telling the truth but selling newspapers. If they have to exaggerate or even tell lies to do it so be it. AND the British pay for the Royal Family and all the pomp and circumstance so the press has a right to invade their privacy. The real truth is that the UK press can be very unkind and often completely unfair. The paparazzi are a real menace and almost a law unto themselves. BUT - for all of their bullshit, they have a way of figuring out what is really going on behind the scenes. They concluded that Meghan wants her cake and eat it too. She wants to be a Princess, be famous, live in luxury be the envy of her friends - in other words all the good stuff. But does not want to pay any of the price for such a life. Hate mail? President Biden is constantly attacked and made out to be an old man well past his prime, How about Hillary Clinton? Hell it was all over the news that she and her movie star friends, other Democrats were eating babies in the basement of a Washington DC Pizza parlor! Election result counters were vilified and received death threats so much so that many did not want to take the job this year. How about Nancy Pelosi and her husband? The Republican election officials that refused to falsify votes? and Mike Pence. Thousands of people were shouting "Hang Mike Pence" on national TV for all the world to see. Lets face it, if you dont want to get burned dont jump into the fire. Meghan jumped into the fire and got all the good stuff but she also got the bad stuff as well. It comes with the territory. Sympathy? I'll save that for the Ukrainians and all those around the world who would sell their soles to have a fraction of what Harry and Meghan have.
